·  What kind of internet access do you provide?
MEGASAT provides a high-quality, affordable, consumer satellite broadband Internet access for users across Cyprus.

·  Why should I get it ?
If you don’t have a phone line or you have a ‘dial-up-only’ Internet access, or you are not happy with your current provider  our solution is the right one for you. It offers a low-cost broadband Internet alternative to anyone anywhere.

 ·  What equipment do I need?
All you need is the installation of a small size satellite dish and a modem. No additional software needs to be installed on your computer to communicate with the modem. Our staff will set up the equipment for you.

Under normal use uplink is 3.6 Mbps and downlink 384 kps.There are four different packages offering various speeds. Our Basic, Bronze, Silver and Gold packages with a Fair Access Policy designed to ensure that exceptional usage by a few customers does not negatively impact on the normal usage of other customers.

·  Can I install it myself?
Installation is recommended by our trained installer network.

·  How much does it cost?
An alternative for homes with low-speed dial-up or no phone line availability that approaches terrestrial broadband services in terms of price and speed. MEGASAT suppliers Tooway™, Eutelsat and ViaSat are ushering in an era of affordable, high-quality consumer satellite broadband at a fraction of the cost of enterprise-focused satellite services designed for managing multiple work stations and complex network requirements. Starter package is 29 € including 15% VAT, per month.

·  Do I need a telephone line?
No, it does not require any cable or phone lines.

·  Are there any minimum requirements for computers?
Not normally, no. Any computer (MAC, Windows or Linux OS) with an embedded network interface card (10/100 Mbps) can be connected to the satellite modem. And more importantly, no additional hardware or computer software is required.

·  Can I integrate your broadband service into a network?
Yes, you simply need to connect an IP Router between the network in your home and the satellite modem. Otherwise you can choose the enhanced IDU with integrated router and Wi-Fi interface, in the near future.

·  Can I use a wireless home network?
Any Wi-Fi router can be connected to the Tooway™ modem, allowing you to enjoy wireless browsing. MEGASAT offers short and long range routers. Voice Over IP services are also available by connecting to a dedicated device.

·  Do you offer Satellite TV services?
YES, MEGASAT is a leading distributor of  satellite TV products and services. We can arrange receiption of your favour television packages.For more information about satellite TV services visit www.megasat.biz.

·  Can I play online games?
In principle yes, but it is not recommended to play so called "Egoshooter" games because of the significantly longer ping times (approximately 600 – 650 ms).

·  How stable is your broadband service in bad weather?
Our suppliers network is the most reliable compared to other two-way consumer satellite services offered in Europe. Its very successful in  UK, France, Ireland, Italy, Germany to mention a few countries where bad weather is very usual. Cyprus has excellent  conditions for satellite broadband services.

·  What frequency bands are used?
Ku-band on EUROBIRD™ 3 satellite at 33° East.

·  Who is your supplier and who handles the platform operations?
Located in the SkyPark teleport in Turin, Italy, the platform and hub operations for the Tooway network are operated by Eutelsat’s broadband subsidiary Skylogic.
